This book really interested me but i’ve heard it’s not one of his finer books written?

What book would you suggest over Salems lot?
Not really too scary, not one of his best books because, in my opinion, it runs on a little too much with too many details that aren’t essential to the plot. Several of his other books are pretty interesting, Carrie for example, or Misery.
