Big Little Book
Is it easy to find Mao Zedong’s little red book in China?
I will be visiting China for 15 days from February to March (Beijing to Shanghai, visiting the small towns in between as well as the big ones), and I wanted to know if it was easy for a tourist to find and buy Mao’s book, I don’t care if I can’t read it, it would be just a souvenir. Are they for sale in tourist stores, or do I have to dig deep to find it? And is it legal for tourists to buy it?
You can find Chinese and English versions in Beijing at Wangfujing and Houhai areas. In Xian, you can find it in the Muslim quarter, near the Great Mosque. it;s easy to find it if you are in these two cities.
