Trace Mineral Hair Analysis
You need to be a kind of detective, to be a Nutrition Consultant. Often, customers simply visit when medicine conventional unable to resolve their health problems. When confronted with such mysteries, it is useful to have some objective research tools at my disposal. My favorite is hair mineral analysis, or CMA. I suggest you immediately if you suspect health problems could arise as a result of overload of toxic metals.
Hair contains all the minerals present in the body and in many cases, reflects the amount of these elements in their tissues. The analysis of this information offers a wealth of information on the effectiveness of your body is working and nutritional status. A blood test will only give information on their levels minerals at the time of testing. For example, if you just ate a banana a blood test may indicate a high level of potassium, although you really need a potassium supplement. Hair analysis reflects your body's storage of potassium over a period of time, not what you ate that day or even during the week. Likewise, urine tests measure what your body is excreted, which is not necessarily what has been absorbed as fuel.
Trace minerals are essential for countless metabolic functions in all stages of life. According to the late author and noted researcher, Dr. Henry Schroeder, trace elements (minerals) are "most important factors in human nutrition than vitamins.
Mineral imbalances can arise from poor diet, stress, medications, pollution and even taking the wrong type or quantity of a nutritional supplement.
How is the exam performed? Taking a hair sample is simple, noninvasive and painless. Anyone can do it. Only a small amount of hair (about a tablespoon) is required. This should be taken from several different sites in the back of his head. The hair should be approximately 1:00 to 1:30 inches from the end of the root – it is important to cut and discard any hair longer than that.
This is sent to a laboratory in the U.S. that specializes only in hair analysis. On arrival prepared for the test and then add acid to break the hair down, separating out the elements contained in the hair protein. After the "digestion" of the remaining mineral salts are put into the solution and analyzed by sensitive and specialized instruments.
The results are interpreted to produce nutritional mineral levels, their interrelationships and categorization metabolism. The report is then customized for you, complete with graphics and explanations that can give you answers you have been looking for years.
Why Why the U.S.? After evaluating the various services that settled in this laboratory, offering excellent value for money. an excellent and rapid services. My own report contained 18 pages of information (others may be different, depending on findings) and was delivered in two weeks at a cost of £ 50. 38 levels of minerals were shown, and significant reasons including, besides my metabolic type, and a recommended supplement program and diet tips to improve the balance of minerals. At the other end of the spectrum was a service in the UK, I will not name. Although it was a few pounds cheaper, waited 8 weeks for his return after receiving a sheet of paper giving levels of 19 minerals. No explanations, no relationships, no interactions, no graphs, no analysis. You get what you pay.
Is there a problem? You will be prompted to specify which hair preparations you used, as some hair treatments can contaminate scalp hair. For example, dyes may contain lead acetate, bleaching processes affect calcium and certain medicated shampoos contain zinc or selenium. However, only a single element that is affected. All other tests are valid. For customers of baldness, the hair on other body parts can be used instead of hair of the head – if so specified in the sample!
Is it reliable? The hair is used as one of the tissues of the option Environmental Protection Agency in determining toxic metal exposure. A 1980 report from the EPA stated that human hair can be effectively used for biological control of the highest priority toxic metals. This report confirms the findings of other studies in the U.S. and abroad, which concluded that human hair could be a more appropriate tissue than blood or urine for studying community exposure to certain trace elements.
Some health professionals are not convinced of the validity of hair analysis. However, journals have published more than 1000 journals in support of its reliability. But perhaps of more interest are the following cases.
Case History 1: JC presented with symptoms of fatigue, lethargy, joint pain and excessive hair loss (age 25). His hair mercury was markedly high. After treatment, your hair mercury levels decreased to a much higher acceptable and their symptoms improved significantly. The source of the toxicity was never identified.
Case history 2: CT became mentally ill and was diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia. He was also alcoholic and consuming large amounts of drugs. An HMA revealed four times the acceptable levels of lead in the hair and also elevated cadmium, mercury and copper. After therapy and supplementation his condition improved considerably, he lost his cravings for alcohol and symptoms of mental illness returned to normal without the need of new psychoactive drugs.
Case history 3: LS, a housewife turned 40, she had felt tired during months. Her doctor had run all the tests and standards could not find any problem. Finally had an HMA which showed that there high levels of lead that were causing her tiredness. The cure was easy, she felt better in two weeks and the tired feeling vanished within a month.
LS was breathing too much lead an automobile exhaust. How much lead is breathing in car exhausts – jogging or queuing in heavy traffic? How How much cadmium have you accumulated liabilities (or active!) Smoking in the office and the pub? If you have dental fillings containing mercury, have you ever wondered if the mercury vapor could be gradually poisoning?
Why you benefit from an HMA? If you have an illness or disease not responded to conventional treatment, you may want to explore other possibilities and an HMA is an excellent place to start. If you are suffering from "unexplained" problems such as headaches, backaches, weakness or tremors, an HMA may help to reach the merits.
If you can answer "Yes" to five or more of these questions a HMA can provide information which, if acted upon, can benefit your health.
* Do you live in a city or a heavy road?
* Do you spend more than two hours a week in traffic?
* Do you exercise or walk through the busy streets?
* Do you smoke more than five cigarettes a day?
* Do you live or work in an atmosphere Smoke?
* Do you buy foods exposed to exhaust gases (ie, on display in a post on the road)?
* Do you usually eat products non-organic?
* Do you take more than one unit of alcohol per day? (1 glass of wine, 1 liter of beer or one measure of spirits)?
* Do you spend much time in front of a television or display?
* Are you exposed to pollutants at work (eg, printing, dentistry) or hobby (gardening)?
* Do you have two or more dental amalgam fillings?
* Do you usually drink water filtered tap water? Or maybe you feel under par without knowing why.
Minerals are considered poisonous? No – the HMA will examine the situation of the essential minerals as calcium, magnesium, zinc, chromium, and a host of others. Modern methods of food processing strip nutrients from food.
Did you know you that a massive 98% chromium is removed from the flour in the refining process. Not heard of Chrome? It is an essential part of the "Factor Glucose Tolerance" that controls blood sugar, stimulates burning of food for energy, controls the levels of blood cholesterol, reduce fat levels in the blood and removes symptoms of hunger.
Modern methods of agriculture have also depleted the mineral content of the soil, and the addition of some mineral fertilizers can be made available to plants. But not only the deficiencies that can cause problems. You can have too much of anything! If calcium (dairy products) sodium (table salt) or phosphorous (in fizzy drinks) are present in excess in the diet, they can alter the natural mineral ratios. And the interactions between minerals are also important. Is fluoride in your water supply depressing the absorption of calcium? The graphics in an HMA will reveal all. Why not find out?
It is clear that a mixture of hot asphalt is not a substitute for diagnosis by a qualified physician, but medical research conventional have failed to find a reason, or suggest treatment for your problem, HMA is a valuable and profitable next step.
