Neon Genesis Evangelion
Anime (Japanese animation) is a unique phenomena in the history of the development of world cinema. Nowadays, the anime is an entertainment industries largest in Japan and could be the only one who can compete with animated films done in the U.S.. Anime offers special form and style to the level of imagination and fantasy factor that can not be found in the animated films made in America.
In this case, development is related anime with the development of manga (Japanese comics) that has been popular for 20 years. Started from 1914, cartoonists Japan began to be interested and tried of experience with cinema.
The first animated film short that was observed was successful Momotaro (1918). Then, the development of anime was very slow to World War II War. After war has ended, a talented young cartoonist, Osamu Tezuka manga produced an influential, Shintakarajima (1947). His work was influenced by the icons of Disney cartoons Max Fleischer and 30 years whose property was to have a round head and big eyes. So Tezuka came to be known as the father of Japanese manga and anime.
Some years, two large studies in Japan were built to compete with the animated films made United States. It was Toei Animation and Mushi Production. These two studies focused on the production of animated films for theater and television. Most Popular animation series for television was Tetsuwan Atom (Astro Boy/1963) for Tezuka, Gigantor, Tobor, Jungle Emperor, and Speed Racer.
In the 70s, natural fiction genre began to clear the anime, as Uchu Senkan Yamato, Uchu Kaizoku Captain Harlock, and Gundam MS. Meanwhile, the talented animator, Hayao Miyazaki began to outdrawn by Future Boy Conan (1978) and Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro (1979).
80's era was the golden period the development of anime. Yamato and Gundam was the beginning. Anime video also cleared market as Original Video Animation (OVA). The most influential film was ¤ Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1986). Other films were Laputa: Castle in the Sky (1986), My Neighbor Totoro (1988), Kiki's delivery service (1989) Grave of the Fireflies (1987) and Akira (1989).
In the meantime, was in the 90s took note of a controversial film like Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995) that started the trend of giant robot anime with the complicated plot. Another popular series is Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball and Pokemon. Hayao Miyazaki anime brought to a higher level through fantasy films like Princess Mononoke (1997) Spirited Away (2002) and Howl's Moving Castle (2004).
To date, industry the anime is observed as the entertainment industry more productive and creative in the world. It also influences many western movies and Animatrix, Kill Bill Vol.1, Speed Racer, and online.

Order of Neon Genesis Evangelion movies?
I just finished episode 24 of the original anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. I understand that they have the Evangelion movies, but I'm not sure what order I see them in. Also, I learned that Evangelion Death and Rebirth is a short summary of episode 24 and 25. If I bother see also?
