How to Buy Art – Painting Buying Guide
Are you thinking about buying a painting?
Buying art can be a very complex and exhaustive process requiring a lot of time to research, study, compare and select. With so much variety in styles, sizes, mediums and colors, sometimes it can be very hard to make a decision about which painting to buy.

- What is your favorite Painting Style and Medium?
Defining what you like is the key. Popular painting styles are: Abstract Art, Impressionism Art, Realism Art, Expressionism Art, Surrealism Art. - Are you looking for an Original Painting or a Print?
An Original Painting usually has textured brush strokes, rich and vibrant colors, and overall, looks, feels and smells like an original. It usually has rough surface and uneven paint on the sides of the stretched canvas. Buying an original work of art is a magnificent experience and an investment opportunity.
A Print is a copy of the original painting. Also known as a reproduction, it usually has a flat image and lacks the true color and essence of an original fine art. It generally has even edges where the buyer typically does not look. If you see a dot matrix pattern, the same pattern you find in magazines or book images, it is probably a print. Some Giclee prints are very well done, may be hand signed and could be very difficult to differentiate from the original.

Colouring Horses with Pencil Crayons – help please?
Hey again!
Im an artist, and I usually do graphite work, or digital work. And I just got into pencil crayons.
My Main subject is the Horse.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any tutorials, or references, guides, etc, on colouring the horse with pencil crayons?
I use Prisma colours.
Or if there are any other horsey artists out there, who have perfected the art of making realistic coat colours with prismas, Please help me out!
I need to know what colour combinitions can create the perfect chesnuts, duns, roans, etc.
I just cant master it! so if you could write down the numbers of the prismas you use, for each colour, I would be so thankful!

You need not make this into any big deal. Think of what you do with your values with your pencil. Pick a color for your horse, think of the values in a color. They are the same: high-light ( a hint of color), light (color gone over maybe once), middle tone (your color without pushing go over maybe twice, high dark (push on a color some), dark ( push on the color a lot). You can also use the opposite color (brown horse would be blue) to tone a color down and black (a little bit for shade).
Some pencil colors can be thinned with water to appear like watercolor, that is fun too.
