Sex a Strict No-no in Religious Circles? But Why is it So?
Sex is that element of our lives that gets the least importance. If we give it a thought, every species would have gone extinct if we eradicate sex from their lives. Yet we the human beings more often than not eye it as something immoral and something that is not to be spoken in public. It is an understood fact that the human species would have long gone from this planet but for sex. Yet we always adopt a somewhat hypocritical attitude towards this very basic need.
It is true that there are certain channels in the society that bank on sex to get their products marketed and sold. Media being the first and the obvious example that comes to our minds. We often see that even the news channels and the newspapers tend to focus more on this front of human life because they get audience and readership respectively. Apart from the news, pornography is one thing that is surviving today just because of the fact that people indeed like watching them. Today, times have become such that the internet and the mobile phones are loaded with offensive clips, sometimes those of blissfully ignorant girls and couples who think they are in the safe hands of their lovers and sometimes that of celebrities, and sometimes quite weird clips can be witnessed where intercourse is shown between, in majority cases girls with animals! These are the things that put sex in the wrong light. These things can to some extent be termed as the anti social elements of the society.
To every thing they say, there is a positive and a negative side. Sex too has got its positive side. Apart from being the tool of reproduction, it is also a very intimate bond of love between two people. The problem comes because many of us want to shy away from sex. It very much prevails but we want to negate its existence. I am not however suggesting to go about sex in the open and have sex in the open, but in some cases the hypocritical attitude should be shun away with.
In the domain of positive and enriching art sometimes some sexual elements when portrayed raise a lot of hue and cry. This particularly happens if a religious twain is added to it. Recently one can take the example of the book Da Vinci’s Code by Dan brown. A lot of religious and spiritual cycles raised mayhem against the book just because Mr. Brown had worked on the fact that probably Jesus had left a legacy behind him. That probably he had a family, that probably he actually had intercourse. This book and even the film had to face a lot of oppositions from various quarters. Their point of objection was that Jesus being a supreme power can’t be portrayed to have sex, that is something that only mean people and ordinary people do. This is a stark example of hypocrisy. It is alright if a person has believe in only what he wants to believe, but then he should also be open to all the other perspectives. What is wrong in the fact that Jesus made love, if ever he did? Because sex is nothing but display of ones love for another being and the action gives birth to a new life, something that is beyond human capacity otherwise.

Many people seem to be in a scandal that Obama is going to take their weapons.
