I know it’s hard enough to keep the ball in play against Federer but …..?
Why is Murray hitting his returns straight back to Federer ….. and how many times is it going to take having the ball put back in the right hand side of his court, before Murray sees what’s coming!?
I suppose it’s oh so simple sitting where I’m sitting!
That is simply Murray’s style. Federer has actually criticized Murray for playing this way. Murray tends to sit back and wait for his opponent to make an error and crumble. The problem is that when he’s playing against Roger Federer had a big stage, Federer will come up with his best and it won’t be good enough to just keep the ball in play. When Murray is more aggressive his game is much better against the top players. Playing the role of keeping the ball in down the middle will work against the lesser players but once he plays against top players it’s going to take much more, especially with the style the Federer plays.
