Lewis Hamilton’s My Story—a Biography Full of Thrills

Life is full of exciting experiences. Often autobiographical sketches have fascinated the readers. As these genres contain more realistic revelations than other fictions or novels readers have much more to know from such writings. “My Story”, is another addition to the fabulous world of autobiography which is very recently released for sale (November 5, 2007).

It is worth mentioning that it is an exciting narration by English Formula One (F1) racing driver, Lewis Carl Hamilton. At a very young age itself Lewis Hamilton have proved to be a genius in the field of racing. Of course his biography would be no less thrilling than any other thrillers and suspense stories. This young racer who recently plays for the McLaren team was born on January 7, 1985 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

“My Sory” is a complete account of Lewis Hamilton’s life where for the first time he speaks about his stunning debut season. He vividly describes about his career, his dad Anthony, childhood experiences and most importantly his gripping climax to the 2007 F1 World Championship. As a motor racer Lewis Hamilton almost thrilled the world by his stupendous performance. Winning one after another race, he created records by his victories in Canada, Hungary, America and in Japan till the last race of the season he led the Drivers’ Championship.

He was almost successful as being the most sought after motor racer at the early period of his career. His autobiography “My Story”, gives genuine account of his amazing life on and off the racing track. He also explains about his hardships he had undergone during his childhood. In an interesting episode Lewis tells about his first go-karting in Ibiza while he was on tight-budgeted family holiday.

The book also reveals some of the amazing events of his life at a motor sport dinner, where wearing a borrowed suit, Lewis approached Ron Dennis, the team boss of McLaren. His approach changed his career for ever, raising him to unparalleled heights. In “My Story”, Lewis recollects his march from junior level to formula ranks, dominating his contemporary racers with better speed and marvellous race craft.

Readers also become aware of the sacrifices his father has made for shaping his career. He also expresses his gratitude to his father Anthony who has struggled hard in shaping the career of his son. Unlike other fictional stories “My Story”, is a real account which describes the long march of a teenage boy to an inspirational superstar.

Good mystery/suspense stories?

I like reading more challenging literature usually, but I have a job where I can read but sometimes cant totally focus on what I’m reading… any ideas for books that aren’t super complicated but still have good story lines and entertainment value.

I agree with V’s answers – those are definitely good places to start, and I do further recommend Dean Koontz. His books cover a lot of different genres, so I am sure you can find something to your taste among his works.

Here are some further authors/books that I have read that I think match your criteria:

John Grisham (legal thrillers) – Not a series, so you can read any of his books in any order. I would recommend The Client, The Rainmaker and The Appeal first – these are among my favorites of his.
James Patterson (mystery/thrillers). Start with the Alex Cross series or the Women’s Murder Club series. There are also a lot of stand alone books including some sci-fi (Maximum Ride series), romance and plenty of mysteries and thrillers.
Michael Crichton (sci-fi/thrillers) A little more involved than some of the other authors mentioned, but still very enjoyable reads. Start with Timeline or Jurassic Park, which are my favorites of his.
Dean Koontz (everything from horror to thrillers to supernatural). I would start with Watchers and the Odd Thomas series. If you like thrillers, then try The Good Guy and The Husband. If you want something a little more bizarre, then try Life Expectancy; you never really know where that one will go.
Patricia Cornwell (forensic thrillers) – If you like shows like CSI, then try the Kay Scarpetta series. The first 6-8 books in the series are the best, but the others are probably good enough to keep you reading.
Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child (mystery/thrillers) – Pendergast series. Follow FBI Special Agent Pendergast as he tries to solve some unusual cases. Very intriguing characters, and I think the series gets even better after the third book.
Clive Cussler (action/thriller) – Dirk Pitt series. 20+ books following the exploits of Dirk Pitt, marine engineer, as he saves the world.

If you’re just looking for something that is a lot of fun to read, then I would recommend Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. There are about 30 books in this series, and the books cover many different story arcs, so you can just read the books with the characters you like or read them all. These will keep you laughing all day long with the social satire and humor. Start with The Colour of Magic, to get the basic intro to the Discworld and how it works, but you can read pretty much anything after that. Among my favorites are Monstrous Regiment, Interesting Times, Moving Pictures and Night Watch. There are some amazing characters and imagery and the writing will keep you quite entertained.
