How are the ultimate marvel comics?
Hey, im sort of trying to get into comics right now, and i saw the ultimate marvel series as a good way to get started, i was wondering if this is true and if not, what is a good way to get started on comics?
I think that was Marvel's plan with the Ultimate line. To make books that would be a good jumping on point for new readers. But they have made the same mistakes with those books that they did with the regular line. They've muddied them up so badly it makes them hard for people to jump in.
If you want to start reading a comic book find a comic store and get trade paperbacks of Ultimate Spider-man from the first issue. Another book that would be good would be trade paperbacks of "Invincible". It's not a Marvel character but it's a good read and you don't need to know twenty years of continuity to understand it. Stay away from X-men books.Their continuity is so muddled I can't imagine how anyone reads those books. let alone someone trying to start from square one.
